“We have linked houses under PMAY-G through geo-tagging technology and the data is also linked to the DISHA Dashboard where I can track and monitor the progress of the scheme.”

– Prime Minister Narendra Modi

In an address to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna–Gramin (PMAY-G), Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about the DISHA Dashboard and its ability to track and monitor the progress of the flagship scheme.

While interacting with the beneficiaries from Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Assam, the Prime Minister highlighted how the monitoring on the DISHA Dashboard has helped in bringing more transparency and accountability in the implementation of the scheme. From his office, he now monitors the progress of different regions using DISHA Dashboard.

The visual platform is hosted by the National Informatics Centre and brings together government data that otherwise exist in silos. On the dashboard, the Members of Parliament of various constituencies can track and monitor the progress of major government flagship schemes to the lowest granularity.

The DISHA Dashboard was launched on October 17, 2017, by the Prime Minister of India as an encouraging step towards more data-driven governance. The Ministry of Rural Development and National Informatics Centre partnered with SocialCops to develop the DISHA Dashboard.
